Darshan, and what a vehicle can and cannot do

Two separate things get sold as one on most travel sites. Temple access is booked by you, with the temple. Getting to the gate on time is the part we handle.

Temple-set fees

These belong to the Shri Kashi Vishwanath Temple Trust, are paid to the temple on its own portal, and change from time to time. We take no cut and cannot reserve them for you. Verified 2026-09-14.

Shri Kashi Vishwanath

One of the twelve Jyotirlingas, and the reason most people come to Varanasi.

Van reaches
Godowlia crossing or the Maidagin side, depending on the day's diversions.
You walk
About 10 minutes through Vishwanath Gali. No vehicle of any size gets closer — this is a municipal restriction, not an operator limit.
Allow
2–4 hours on general darshan; about 1 hour on an allotted slot.

Kaal Bhairav

The kotwal of Kashi. Traditionally visited before or after Vishwanath.

Vehicle reaches within a few hundred metres near Bharonath.

5 minutes.
Allow
30–45 minutes.

Sankat Mochan Hanuman

Founded by Tulsidas. Calmer than the old-city temples and easy to reach.

Parking at the temple approach — an Urbania fits comfortably.
You walk
2 minutes.
Allow
30–45 minutes. Tuesdays and Saturdays are busiest.

Annapurna Devi

Adjacent to Vishwanath; usually done in the same walk.

Same as Vishwanath — Godowlia.

Combined with the Vishwanath walk.

Add 20 minutes to the Vishwanath stop.

Durga Kund

The red-ochre Durga temple beside its stepped tank.

Tulsi Manas Mandir

Dashashwamedh Ghat

The evening Ganga aarti, and the boat point for a sunrise row.

Godowlia. The ghat itself is pedestrian.

8–10 minutes down to the ghat.

Arrive 45 minutes before aarti for a usable position.
