The approaches are barricaded from the afternoon. Realistic drop points sit well back and the last twenty to forty minutes are on foot. Any operator promising a drop at Dashashwamedh is not telling you the truth.
Book by early October
There are few Urbania vans in Varanasi and they commit six to eight weeks ahead for this date. Ghat-side hotels go earlier still.
Boats are booked separately
The evening boat is not part of a vehicle booking and sells out first. Arrange both at the same time rather than sequentially.
