Film and photography units

Shooting in Varanasi means long waits at locations a vehicle cannot enter, and a crew that needs somewhere to sit with the kit between setups. That is a different requirement from transport, and it is priced by the day rather than the kilometre.

What we would put you in

Force Urbania — 17 Seater30/km · ₹5,999 for 12 hrs

Seventeen seats and a ten-bag bay carries a small unit with its cases. The cabin is quiet enough to work in while parked, which a leaf-sprung van with the engine running is not.

Why the Urbania here

  • Ten-bag equipment bay separate from the seating
  • Charging points at every row for batteries between setups
  • Quiet, air-conditioned cabin to work in during long waits
  • Drivers used to standby days rather than point-to-point runs

When it is not worth it

A two-person shoot with a camera bag. That is a cab job, and paying seventeen seats' worth of vehicle for it makes no sense — we will say so rather than take the booking.

Worth knowing

Standby days bill as full days

A vehicle held at a location all day is committed to you whether it moves 10 km or 200. The 12-hour package is usually the right structure for a shoot day rather than a per-kilometre rate.

The old city is walk-in for everyone

No unit vehicle reaches the ghats or Vishwanath Gali. Kit goes in on foot from Godowlia, which is worth planning around at the recce stage.

Permissions are yours

We provide the vehicle and the driver. Filming permissions for the ghats and temple premises are arranged by the production with the relevant authorities.

Questions

Can I hire a vehicle for a film shoot in Varanasi?
Yes, usually on the 12-hour/200 km package at ₹5,999 for a 17-seat Urbania, which suits a shoot day better than a per-kilometre rate because the vehicle spends most of it parked.
Is there space for camera equipment?
A ten-bag luggage bay separate from the seating on the 17-seater, plus charging points at every row. For a larger unit two vehicles or a tempo traveller alongside works better.
Do you arrange filming permissions?
No. We provide the vehicle and driver; permissions for the ghats and temple premises are arranged by the production with the relevant authorities.
